Within the Student Government Senate, there are standing committees to focus on student advocacy. The goal of each of these committees is to represent the interest of our constituents. All of these committees work with University administration, faculty, and/or staff on problems or issues that arise, and draft proposals to come before the full Senate to make official recommendations to the University鈥檚 leadership.

The Academic Affairs Committee serves as a facilitator of discussions between the student body and the institution related to academics. The committee confronts academic concerns as they arise from the student body, advocates for positive change in the academic realm of campus, and provides availability for meetings with students, faculty, and staff to further committee objectives related to the John Carroll mission. This committee maintains a watchful eye over core requirement changes that could affect students and pursues initiatives to improve the academic experience for the students at John Carroll.
