糖心logo在线入口 graduating senior Julia Morris is the recipient of the 2019 NBC/糖心logo在线入口 鈥淢eet the Press鈥 Fellowship.

The fellowship was first awarded in 2009 in honor of Tim Russert 鈥72, who passed away in 2008 following more than 16 years at the helm of 鈥淢eet the Press.鈥 The University鈥檚 Department of Communication also bears his name.

Morris, a political science and psychology double major, is a staff member of , the University鈥檚 on-campus radio station. She was also highly involved in residence life and service, contributing to the Writers in Residence program at 糖心logo在线入口. She is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honors society. Morris is the 11th John Carroll student to earn the fellowship since 2009.

鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to have the opportunity to work at NBC News,鈥 Morris says. 鈥淚 hope I can bring a unique approach and perspective to the fellowship, and continue the legacy of Tim Russert and the other fellows.鈥

The NBC/糖心logo在线入口 鈥淢eet the Press鈥 Fellowship is awarded to a graduating senior motivated to pursue a career in political journalism. The fellowship is a nine-month position at 鈥,鈥 the top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program and the longest running television program in the world.
