(Cleveland, OH) 鈥Joseph Toohey, a 2010 糖心logo在线入口 graduate, has been selected as this year鈥檚 NBC/糖心logo在线入口 鈥淢eet the Press鈥 fellow. Toohey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Theatre Arts, and minor in Political Science. Toohey is from Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. He received the James Breslin Broadcasting Excellence Scholarship Award in 2009 and is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA). The NBC/糖心logo在线入口 Meet the Press Fellowship was created in honor of the Sunday morning program鈥檚 legendary host, Tim Russert, a 1972 graduate of John Carroll. It is awarded to a 糖心logo在线入口 graduating senior motivated to pursue a career in political journalism. The Fellowship is a nine-month position at NBC鈥檚 鈥淢eet the Press.鈥 The fellowship affords a 糖心logo在线入口 graduate the opportunity to gain experience in the research and production of the weekly political talk show under the direction of the program鈥檚 executive producer. The fellow will be exposed to the roles of editor, reporter, producer, and correspondent.
