David LaGuardia has been a professor of English at 糖心logo在线入口 for over fifty years,聽during which time he has served as Chair,聽Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Provost of the University. He published a study of the poet Wallace Stevens--Advance on Chaos: The Sanctifying Imagination of Wallace Stevens聽(1983)--the winner of the Brown University first book prize. Central to his longtime service to the university is his profound engagement with聽students, who spend hours talking not just about Faulker, Hemingway, and Morrison, but about how this work connects to their own lives. He is a treasure to the university, and he will be missed when he retires at the end of the semester.聽 聽
