Join Professor Paul V. Murphy as he discusses his experiences leading 糖心logo在线入口 students in Rome as the country became engulfed in the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Murphy will also reflect on the Vatican鈥檚 response and how the crisis will impact how people of faith worship in 2020 and beyond.

罢丑别听Alumni Continuing Education Series (A.C.E.S.)聽is a non-credit granting, personal enrichment series offered to alumni of John Carroll as a benefit and aims to stimulate intellectual growth by connecting graduates to the academic resources of their alma mater. The series features current and former faculty and other members of the John Carroll community.

The Office of Alumni Relations will provide the Zoom conferencing link and password the day before the program is to take place.

Paul V. Murphy, Ph.D.

Paul V. Murphy focuses his research on the religious and cultural history of 16th and 17th century Italy. He is the author of聽Ruling Peacefully. Cardinal Ercole Gonzaga and Patrician Reform in Sixteenth-Century Italy聽(CUA Press, 2007) as well as a number of articles and book chapters. His current research is on the work of the Jesuits in Italy, particularly at the pilgrimage site of Loreto. He teaches courses on the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the Jesuits. In addition to his work in the department of history, he serves as the Director of the Institute of Catholic Studies.
